Mysak-captain

MONTREAL -- Forward Jan Mysak was named captain of Team Czechia for the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship on Wednesday.

It's the second straight year that Mysak will serve in that role.

The 19-year-old Litvinov native was enjoying a strong campaign with the OHL's Hamilton Bulldogs before joining his national side, registering 31 points (17 goals, 14 assists) in 25 games.
Mysak, who was selected in the second round (48th overall) by the Canadiens in 2020, is an assistant captain with the Bulldogs as well.

The Championship will run from December 26 - January 5 in Edmonton and Red Deer, AB.
The Czechs will open the preliminary round on Boxing Day against Canada, before battling Germany (December 27), Finland (December 29) and Austria (December 30).
Fellow Canadiens prospect Kaiden Guhle was recently named captain of Team Canada, too.
