BOSTON -The Boston Bruins Foundation has once again partnered with The Hero's Cup Foundation to host the sixth annual BFit Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament, presented by National Grid, beginning Friday, June 10, in Marlborough.

The BFit Heroes Cup is a weekend-long event designed to bring firefighters, police officers, EMS and military members together to raise funds and awareness for the charities they choose to fundraise for by participating in the tournament. The BFit Heroes Cup has a collective goal of $500,000 for the 2022 hockey tournament, which will be held at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, Massachusetts.
"All of our local unions are very active in the communities they serve and often have specific charities they work with," said Rich MacKinnon, President of the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts. "And that is why the Heroes Cup Foundation is such a success; the teams get to choose their own charities to play for while still being part of a larger event."
The hockey tournament will run from Friday, June 10, until Sunday, June 12, and will feature 110 teams made up of over 1,100 first responders. Sunday will feature the top four teams from each division in a championship round, with the winner of each division receiving a cash prize that will be added to their donation to a charity of their choice.
"The Boston Bruins Foundation is proud to partner with the Heroes Cup to help grow this initiative involving first responders all over the country," said Bob Sweeney, President of the Boston Bruins Foundation. "We look forward to expanding this event and embracing all the charitable events that this tournament supports."
