MONTREAL -- Josh Anderson earned Player of the Game honors in Canada's 6-1 victory over Italy at the IIHF World Championship on Sunday.

Anderson's goal at the 8:15 mark of the second period proved to be the game-winner.

He also recorded an assist on defenseman Travis Sanheim's tally in the opening frame.
The 28-year-old winger finished the contest with two shots on goal in 15:05 of ice time.

Anderson is enjoying a strong start to the tournament with three points (1 goal, 2 assists) and a plus-3 differential in two games.

Prospect Sean Farrell assisted on Luke Hughes' game-winner at the 3:07 mark of the extra frame.
The breakaway snipe completed the comeback against Austria, as the Americans were down 2-0.

Farrell didn't register a shot on goal in 11:22 of ice time.
Defenseman Jordan Harris didn't dress for a second straight game.

Goaltender Frederik Dichow surrendered five goals on 25 shots to the Swiss, before being replaced by Sebastian Dahm to start the third period.
It was Dichow's first start of the tournament.

Anderson and the Canadians look to remain undefeated when they battle Slovakia at 9:20 a.m. ET on Monday.
Joel Armia and the Finns also square off against the Americans at 1:20 p.m. ET.
