Arlington, VA - The Washington Capitals and the USA Ball Hockey's Women's National Team (USWNT) announced a partnership today on behalf of the Capitals ALL CAPS ALL HER platform that will see the Capitals serve as the presenting sponsor of the U.S. Women's National Ball Hockey team's final evaluation camp. The camp is scheduled to take place Sept. 9-10 in Pittsburgh, Pa., prior to the World Championships in June in Switzerland.

In conjunction with the partnership, the Capitals ALL CAPS ALL HER platform will host a series of off-ice events and activations. A Girls Try Ball Hockey for Free clinic will take place Sunday Oct. 8, followed by an all-girls session of the Sticks & Sneakers program with classes on Saturday, Oct. 14, Saturday, Oct. 21 and Saturday, Nov. 4.

The Girls Try Hockey for Free clinic for ages 5-17 will take place from 11 a.m.-noon on Sunday, Oct. 8, at the Capitals Outdoor Ball/Inline Rink at Ridge Road Recreational Park in Germantown, Md. The clinic will be led by members of the Capitals youth hockey development staff, along with USWNT coaches and players. Click here to register.

The Capitals will also launch a new ALL CAPS ALL HER Sticks and Sneakers Learn to Play program inspired by the organization's relationship with the USWNT. Sticks and Sneakers, designed to provide further development following participation in the Capitals free clinics, is offered to first-time players between the ages of 5-9 and 10-14. For $49, participants receive free equipment, three weeks of age-appropriate introductory instruction on fundamental hockey skills including stickhandling, passing and shooting, and certified coaching in a fun, accessible and safe environment.

The ALL CAPS ALL HER Sticks and Sneakers programing will take place from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, Saturday, Oct. 21, and Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Capitals Outdoor Ball/Inline Rink at Ridge Road Recreational Park in Germantown, Md. Click here to register.

The Capitals launched ALL CAPS ALL HER in December 2021 as an initiative that provides access to hockey and elevates the game for women and girls in the Washington, D.C., area. ALL CAPS ALL HER recognizes and supports female players, coaches, referees, parents, advocates, students and leaders in the community. Events, programs and content throughout the year provide various levels of entry into hockey for women and girls of all ages, offer leadership, business development, and networking opportunities and highlight influential women and families in the community.
