ABOUT THE 'YOTES:
• The Coyotes are looking to rebound from a 3-0 home loss to Buffalo on Saturday. It was the third time in four games this season they failed to score a goal.
• Arizona enters the game as the stingiest defense in the NHL in terms of shots allowed per game; opponents are averaging just 23.3.

• Backup goalie Darcy Kuemper will make his first start of the season. Kuemper, whom Minnesota drafted 161st overall in 2009, posted a 41-34-14 record in 89 games over five seasons with the Wild. His save percentage was .910 and his goals-against average was 2.60. This will be his first start vs. Minnesota.

Tocchet: Can't Overthink It

Brad Richardson, who co-leads the Coyotes with one goal, has notched seven of his 82 NHL goals vs. the Wild. That's 8.5 percent.
Clayton Keller, who led the Coyotes in preseason scoring with seven points (one goal, six assists) in four games, was held to just one assist in the first four games.
Dylan Strome is leading the Coyotes and ranks third in the NHL in face-off winning percentage at 66.7. Strome has won 38 of 57 draws.
Derek Stepan, a native of Hastings, Minn., leads the Coyotes and ranks tied for 25th in the NHL with 19 shots on goal.
Josh Archibald, who missed the first four games of the season because of an upper-body injury, will be in the lineup, replacing Mario Kempe. Archibald has notched eight goals and six assists in 53 NHL games, but none vs. Minnesota in three games.

Alex Galchenyuk (lower-body injury) and Jakob Chychrun (lower-body injury) accompanied the team on this trip. Both practiced Monday wearing non-contact sweaters. Meanwhile, Christian Dvorak (lower-body injury) remained in Arizona. Head Coach Rick Tocchet said Dvorak recently suffered "a little bit of a setback" in his recovery.
• Gord Miller and Pierre McGuire will serve as play-by-play announcer and analyst, respectively, for NBC Sports Network.
"A lot of people are going to be watching the game," Tocchet said. "You want to show your skill, show you're a good team. I think it's great. We're not on it very often so why not enjoy it and embrace it. I think it's a good thing for us."
The Coyotes also will be featured on NBCSN when they play vs. San Jose on Jan. 16.
ABOUT THE WILD:
• Minnesota played at Nashville on Monday and lost 4-2 ... Backup goalie Alex Stalock made his season debut in that game meaning starter Devan Dubnyk likely will play vs. Arizona, for which he played 19 games in 2014-15 ... The Wild is 12-2-3 in its past 17 games against Arizona, including a 12-game point streak (9-0-3) dating to Jan. 9, 2014. It's the longest point streak in franchise history vs. an NHL opponent ... Jason Zucker leads the Wild with three goals ... Zach Parise has notched a team-high seven points and six assists ... Led by Matt Dumba, Minnesota defensemen have notched nine of the team's 34 points this season (26.5 percent).
'YOTES QUOTES:
"We're still involved in these games because we're limiting chances. That's the key. We're giving ourselves a chance. It's not like we're getting killed 6-0. We're in the games, we've just got to start scoring goals." -- Rick Tocchet
• "They've obviously got some real good forwards. They've got some high-end skill up there so we have to watch out for those guys. They have quick attacks. (Jason) Zucker and (Zach) Parise like to jump for breakaways. We've got to be careful." -- Dylan Strome
"We're playing in the offensive zone a lot. We're controlling the play, we have the puck on our stick a lot. Any time you do that it's going to be tough for (opponents) to get shots, so we're looking to do more of that ... We want to keep those shots down. If we keep going like we're going, we're going to be fine." -- Alex Goligoski
