Anaheim Ducks
Kevin Bieksa
On the game
We outshoot them heavily and carry the play for most of the game. Their goal was off one of our guys and in on a lucky bounce. We had plenty of chances to score. Their goalie played well. You don't hold your head too far down for this one. We played well. We didn't get the result, but we're happy with the way we played.

On the mindset heading into tomorrow's game
Sometimes we were a little casual with the puck, but I thought we played well overall. You win in a shootout and everything is great, and you lose in a shootout and you're down. We'll build off of it and play tomorrow against a good San Jose team.
Rickard Rakell
On the game
We definitely had our chances. It's too bad we didn't get two points, but we need to move forward and focus on the game tomorrow.
On the shootout
We definitely had our chances, and so did they, but it's 50/50. It's you against the goalie. They beat us tonight.
Head Coach Randy Carlyle
On the game
I didn't think we were as sharp with the puck. We had 22 shots that were directed toward the net that we missed with. We had a 40-shot night. They had a bunch of blocked shots on us. That's an indicator that we weren't sharp enough around the puck.
On the scoring chances in the second period
At one point in the second period we were out-chancing them 7-1, and then they get a goal. That gave them life and we had all kinds of opportunities before that. We just didn't finish.
Buffalo Sabres
Anders Nilsson
On the shootout win
We've been struggling all season long with shootouts. It's nice to get a win tonight and score three goals. It was good for our confidence even though it's coming late in the season.
On Ristolainen's shootout goal
I actually knew he was going to do that. I wanted to see him out there. He's done that move on me in practice and scored, so I had a feeling he was going to do it. I'm happy for him and that it paid off.
Ryan O'Reilly
On the shootout
We were in a pretty good position. [Nilsson] is great in shootouts. We were confident in him. We just had to step up and get the next one. It was back and forth, but it was one we grinded out. It wasn't the prettiest win, but it's nice to get a shootout victory.
On the West Coast road trip
We stole one tonight. It wasn't our greatest game, but it started with [Nilsson]. He played phenomenal and gave us a chance. It's been tough. It hasn't been a good trip, but every team on the West Coast always plays heavy and hard. They don't give you much. It's nice to get one win in.
Head Coach Dan Bylsma
On Ristolainen's shootout goal
We've talked about the shootouts as a group, in the group of seven that we're using. Rasmus has tried a few moves. I said we put you in there to shoot. He's tried a few things in practice and then on the pre-scout he saw something he thought he can work with and went to it. It was pretty smooth.
On Nilsson's play
He was real strong and real solid and tested with some big saves. That's kind of where he's been for most of the year for us. After the last game, one he needed to get back to and it was a big performance from him. I think he was, I don't know what star they gave out tonight, but he stopped 41.
