The Wranglers are coming off back-to-back wins in their last two contests and have an 8-2-0 record in their last 10 games. Despite a series of recent roster moves and recalls, they still find themselves in the middle of a tight race for top spot in the Pacific division.

Getting the Call

It was a dream come true recently for Jakob Pelletier and Walker Duehr, both of whom were called up to the Flames over the weekend. Pelletier has averaged over a point-per-game with the Wranglers so far this season, notching 34 points (15g, 19a) in 31 games. It was a pleasant surprise for the 21-year-old from Quebec, QC who is set to get his first taste of NHL action.
Along with Pelletier, Duehr got a similar phone call from Flames GM Brad Treliving.
Duehr is a big-bodied forward who can slot into a bottom six role with the big club. Previously, he played one game with the Flames last season, and has shown growth in his game since then, adding physicality and a defensively responsible approach. He brings an offensive flair as well, with an ability to drive the net and employ soft hands in tight. Through 31 games with the Wranglers this season, Duehr has 10 goals and 16 points.
"It's a lot of excitement for you and your family," said Duehr. "Just excited to get that call and get this opportunity."
"It's a lot of fun winning, and we've been doing a lot of that down there with the Wranglers and we have a great group down there, so it's fun coming to the rink each and every day."
Duehr made his season debut with the Flames on Tuesday, logging 12:56 of ice time, throwing three hits, and putting one shot on net.

In Wolf We Trust

It really can't be said enough: Dustin Wolf is the backbone of the Wranglers success this season. His approach, preparation and consistency in practice and games has led to league-leading netminder numbers, as the reigning AHL Goaltender of the Year looks poised to repeat as 'King of the Crease' this season.
Wolf (21-4-0) leads the league in games played (26), wins (21), shutouts (4), and minutes-played (1527:14) while sitting second amongst AHL goaltenders in goals-against average (2.08) and save-percentage (0.931)
"I'm feeling good about my game," admits Wolf. "Been in a bit of a groove and the team has been playing well in front of me, so it makes my life easy. We're winning games so it's been fun."
Wolf went 8-1 in the month of December, with two shutouts, and his efforts were recognized league wide as he was named AHL Goalie of the Month. The 21-year-old backstop was pleased with the nomination but credits his teammates for contributing to his success so far this season.
"It's pretty cool. I think it goes back to our group effort; we've been playing good hockey since we had kind of a rocky start. It's been fun to come to the rink every day and go to war with these guys."

All-Star Love

Wranglers head coach Mitch Love received a league-wide honour with the selection as an All-Star coach for the AHL Pacific Division for the upcoming AHL All-Star Classic, held February 5-6 in Laval, Quebec. Love has coached his crew to a 24-8-1 record through the first half of the season and is excited for the chance to represent the Wranglers and the Pacific Division.
"I think the first thing that comes to mind for me is obviously an honour," Love expressed. "Any time you can represent this division with good coaches and good players, that's a great opportunity. I'm looking forward to meeting other players in the league and other staff members.
"But first and foremost, I'm not in this opportunity here in a month without good staff here and good players putting in a lot of work here daily."

Phillips talks about rejoining the Wranglers from the Flames
Ben Jones on the play of Wolf this season.
- "Wolfie's been probably our best player consistently every single night… the saves he makes, he really bails us out at times."
