The Golden Knights defeated the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 in a shootout. Vegas will wrap up its five-game road trip in Philadelphia on Monday night.
Here are three takeaways from today's game:

1. Late-game heroics
Deryk Engelland had a late third period goal that kept the Golden Knights in the game when he banked a shot off of Marco Scandella. After a slow first two periods, Engelland's goal helped to take the team to overtime. He has scored five goals this season and is one goal shy of his career-best for a season.

2. Shootout
David Perron started off the scoring in the shootout, but Erik Haula had the deciding goal in the fifth round. Haula's shooutout goal was the first of his career. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped four of the five attempts that he faced.

3. Milestones and records
Thursday's win in Detroit tied the Anaheim Ducks for most road wins for an expansion team and today they set a new record with 20 road wins on the season. Today's victory also means that Fleury is just one win away from his 400th NHL career win and he'll look to reach that mark on Monday against Philadelphia.
