Myers suspended three games for check to the head
Buffalo Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers has been suspended for three games, without pay, for an illegal check to the head.

NEW YORK -- Buffalo Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers has been suspended for three games, without pay, for an illegal check to the head of New Jersey Devils forward Dainius Zubrus during NHL Game No. 628 in Buffalo on Saturday, Jan. 4, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 7:02 of the third period. Myers was assessed a minor penalty for an illegal check to the head.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and based on his average annual salary, Myers will forfeit $84,615.39. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
