WINNIPEG MB - The Winnipeg Jets skated off the ice at Bell MTS Place on the losing side of the score board to close out a four-game home stand in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Buffalo Sabres. However, the Jets can't be upset with seven out of a possible eight points.

"We know we are a good home team and I think we performed well." Said Paul Maurice.
The Jets really tightened things up defensively over the past eight days allowing six goals against while scoring 14 times. Five-on-five they didn't give up a whole lot either and that bodes well as they take off on a four-game road trip which begins Monday in Vancouver.
"It's not perfect but it's pretty darn close," said Blake Wheeler who saw his point streak come to an end at 11 games.
"Some things we can definitely build upon and get on the road and try and build upon that part of our game as well."
Kyle Connor might have enjoyed himself the most in the loss, scoring his ninth of the season and then also adding a goal in the shootout. Connor ended up averaging more than a point per game recording three goals and two assists on the home stand.
"Yeah I think each game I'm growing and really taking strides to be a more consistent player day in and day out," said Connor who is currently second on the Jets in goals behind Mark Scheifele.
"That's what makes great player in this league great is bringing it every single night."
They haven't been together long but it looks like Connor with Bryan Little and Patrik Laine did some good things after Laine came aboard in the game against the Capitals on Wednesday.
"I like Patty's game an awful lot. There was a little bit of physicality, some directness," said Maurice.
"He cracked a post, well two and those are good signs for him. Over the last two games maybe Connor Hellebuyck the last game, Kyle Connor has been the best player on the ice for me. He's just been fantastic and there's some chemistry on that line. I like it a lot."
