The Stars killed off back-to-back power plays and Bishop made 15 saves in the third period.
"Penalty kill was huge, two big kills there in the third period," Bishop said. "That's what you need. You've got to find different ways to win, and tonight the penalty kill came up big and I'll take it."
Adin Hill made 31 saves in his NHL debut for the Coyotes (0-5-1), who are still looking for their first win.
"We had a couple of glorious chances, couple of guys had an empty net to tie it up," Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet said. "We've just got to keep punching away."

Faksa gave Dallas a 1-0 lead at 5:17 of the first period. Mattias Janmark's wraparound was stopped by Hill's left pad before Faksa beat Coyotes forward Christian Dvorak to a loose puck.
"I just passed to [Janmark] in the middle and he made a nice play," Faksa said. "Just strong by the net and got the rebound, and happy it was in."
Hamhuis made it 2-0 on a wrist shot at 10:48 of the second period. Tyler Pitlick and Faksa won a battle in the corner for the puck before Hamhuis scored his first of the season from the left circle.
Jason Demers made it 2-1 on a wrist shot at 14:40 of the second period. Max Domi and Anthony Duclair had assists.
Alexander Radulov scored his first goal of the season into an empty net at 19:08 of the third period.

The game-winning goal was generated with hard work by the Stars' fourth line in the corner, and Hamhuis took advantage of the open space.

They said it

"He just looked big. He moved really well side to side. I don't think the game was too big for him. I thought he was very calm, and that's nice to see." -- Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet on goalie Adin Hill
"I'm not pleased with the way we played, period. I don't think we played very well. Of the efforts and the continuity … not so much effort, but from a continuity standpoint, this was our weakest performance. We know right now, the players and the staff know that we'll have to be much better on Thursday if we expect to collect two points. We weren't impressed with our continuity. Now, was it them or was it us? That's something we'll able to tell in the morning when we look at the tape, because they caused us a lot of problems. Normally we haven't had any of those problems, but they caused a lot of them for us today." -- Stars coach Ken Hitchcock
