BOS DAL 11.16 recap3

DALLAS -- Jason Dickinson scored 1:34 into overtime, and Ben Bishop made 23 saves for the Dallas Stars in a 1-0 win against the Boston Bruins at American Airlines Center on Friday.

It was the first 1-0 win after regulation in the history of the Stars/Minnesota North Stars franchise, which began play in 1967-68.
Dickinson scored after Tuukka Rask made the initial save on Mattias Janmark.

"I noticed that [Janmark] was shooting, and I figured I'd go to the side that he was shooting on because there might be a rebound," Dickinson said.
The Stars (10-7-2) have a point in eight of their past 10 games (6-2-2).

The Bruins (10-6-3) have lost two straight games and three of their past five. They had won their five previous games in Dallas, since losing 4-2 on Dec. 31, 2011.
Rask, in his first start since taking a three-day leave because of a personal matter, made 36 saves. He had last played Nov. 8, when he allowed three goals on 14 shots in relief of Jaroslav Halak in an 8-5 loss to the Vancouver Canucks.
"Good game," Rask said. "Always try to be good. Try to feel good. Play confident. That's how I felt today."

Dickinson has scored each of the overtime goals for Dallas this season, the other in a 4-3 win at the Washington Capitals on Nov. 3.
"He's someone that I really trust because he plays the right way," Stars coach Jim Montgomery said. "His details have been fantastic. His speed and his ability to drive the net on 3-on-3 situations gets us in a lot of advantages."
Bishop has two shutouts this season, the other 3-0 against the Arizona Coyotes on opening night, and 26 in the NHL.
"It's always nice to get that one in overtime or get into a shootout," Bishop said. "When you're riding high like that, it's tough to lose when you've got zero goals up there after 60."

The Bruins are 1-3 in overtime, winning 2-1 at home against the Stars on Nov. Nov. 5.
"Overtime hasn't been our friend," Cassidy said. "We don't manage the puck. We give up odd-man rushes. We don't deserve to win."
Defensemen Jakub Zboril and Connor Clifton each made his NHL debut for Boston, which played without Zdeno Chara, who injured his knee in a 6-3 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday.
Zboril played 10:53 and blocked two shots. Clifton played 18:53, took two minor penalties and had a five-minute major for fighting Jason Spezza.
Defenseman Gavin Bayreuther, who grew up in New Hampshire as a Bruins fan, made his NHL debut for the Stars. He played 14:48, took a tripping penalty and blocked three shots.
Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron skated to the locker room at 7:45 of the second period after being hit into the boards by Radek Faksa. Bergeron returned about five minutes later, just before forward Brad Marchand took a minor penalty for slashing and then was assessed a 10-minute misconduct penalty. Marchand had 18 penalty minutes and leads the NHL with 66.
Bergeron struggled to finish the game with an upper-body injury and will be evaluated Saturday, Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said.
