BOSTON, MA - CEO of Delaware North Boston Holdings, Charlie Jacobs, announced today, June 18, that the Boston Bruins Foundation donated more than $3 million to more than 150 nonprofit charities over this past year. Organizations receiving grants are aligned with the Foundation's mission to enhance the quality of life for children in numerous capacities.
"I am very proud to announce that for the first time in its fifteen-year history the Boston Bruins Foundation has surpassed $3 million in grants and civic contributions," said Charlie Jacobs. "The fans of New England demonstrate incredible support for the Boston Bruins every season, which is why it will always be a priority of ours to give back. It is a great privilege to support so many organizations that share our commitment to enhancing the lives of children and their families throughout our communities."

Highlights from the past year include the largest 50/50 raffle in team history, with proceeds benefitting the Humboldt Broncos. The Bruins donated a total of $200,000 to the Humboldt Broncos community relief efforts. A total of $350,000 was donated to the 100 Club of Massachusetts as a result of the second annual BFit First Responder Challenge powered by National Grid, and $350,000 was donated to the Pan Mass Challenge as a result of the Boston Bruins Foundation team's fundraising efforts. The Boston Bruins Foundation also donated $250,000 to the Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament which supports numerous first responder charities.
Additional groups assisted throughout the past year include the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress, Operation Hat Trick, local Boys & Girls Clubs, Franciscan Children's Adaptive Skating Program, and Massachusetts Hockey.
Since its inception in 2003, the Boston Bruins Foundation has raised more than $30 million dollars.
