Filip Chytil scored with four seconds left in overtime to give the New York Rangers a 4-3 win against the New Jersey Devils at Madison Square Garden.

It was the fourth tiebreaking goal scored by the Rangers.
Pavel Zacha and Brian Gibbons scored second-period goals for New Jersey, and Jimmy Hayes, who is on a professional tryout contract, tied it 3-3 at 3:20 of the third period.
Kevin Hayes in the first period, and Chris Kreider and David Desharnais in the second each gave New York a one-goal lead. Kevin Shattenkirk had three assists, the last one on the game-winner.
"I think the only way we're going to get better is by playing with each other, and that's how you start figuring out your chemistry with guys," Shattenkirk said. "It was fun to get out here and play with some of these young guys who have a bright future, and for me to play with Brady [Skjei] and starting to get our chemistry as well."
Henrik Lundqvist made 11 saves and allowed two goals for New York in the first 30:09. Cory Schneider allowed three goals on 17 shots in the first 30:16 for New Jersey.

Sergachev scores for Lightning against Hurricanes

Mikhail Sergachev scored in his Tampa Bay Lightning debut, a 4-3 win against the Carolina Hurricanes at PNC Arena.
Sergachev, the No. 9 pick of the 2016 NHL Draft, was acquired from the Montreal Canadiens on June 15 in the trade that sent forward Jonathan Drouin to Montreal. The 19-year-old put Tampa Bay ahead 3-1 when he beat goalie Cam Ward at 4:28 of the second period.
Adam Erne, Tye McGinn and Boris Katchouk scored for the Lightning.
Lucas Wallmark, Derek Ryan and Sebastian Aho scored for the Hurricanes. It was Ryan's third goal of the preseason.
Tampa Bay's Peter Budaj made 18 saves on 20 shots before being relieved to start the third period by Michael Leighton, who allowed one goal on 12 shots. Ward made 19 saves on 22 shots, and Jeremy Smith allowed one goal on three shots in relief.

Capitals top Canadiens with two third-period goals

Devante Smith-Pelly scored the tiebreaking goal with 5:54 left in the third period, and the Washington Capitals defeated the Montreal Canadiens 4-2 at Bell Centre.
Charles Hudon at 1:16 and Max Pacioretty at 11:37 scored second-period goals for Montreal to tie it 2-2. Jonathan Drouin had an assist on Pacioretty's goal.
Evgeny Kuznetsov at 5:07 and Jakub Vrana at 9:52 gave Washington a 2-0, first-period lead. Alex Ovechkin had an assist on Vrana's goal. Each of the first four goals came during a power play.
Tom Wilson scored an empty-net goal, with Kuznetsov getting his second assist.
Carey Price made eight saves playing the first 29:22 for Montreal. Philipp Grubauer made 20 playing the same time for Washington.

Schultz, Penguins defeat Red Wings in OT

Justin Schultz scored 27 seconds into overtime to give the Pittsburgh Penguins a 6-5 win against the Detroit Red Wings at PPG Paints Arena.
Detroit's Gustav Nyquist tied it 5-5 with his second goal of the game with two minutes remaining.
Forward Adam Johnson scored two goals for Pittsburgh, which got one goal each from Greg McKegg, Conor Sheary and Jake Guentzel. Penguins starter Matt Murray made 19 saves on 22 shots through the second period, and Tristan Jarry made 13 saves in relief.
Darren Helm, Ben Street and Matt Lorito scored for the Red Wings. Jimmy Howard allowed three goals on 25 shots in 32:22, and Tom McCollum made nine saves in relief.

Gostisbehere's OT goal lifts Flyers past Islanders

Shayne Gostisbehere scored in overtime to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 3-2 win against the New York Islanders at PPL Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Gostisbehere won it when he one-timed Nolan Patrick's cross-ice feed past New York goalie Christopher Gibson.
Taylor Leier scored two power-play goals in the second period for the Flyers. Michal Neuvirth started in goal and made 16 saves. Leland Irving relieved him at the start of the third period.
Anders Lee of the Islanders tied the game 2-2 with 24 seconds remaining in the third period, and Mathew Barzal scored a power-play goal in the first period. Barzal, a first-round pick (No. 16) at the 2015 NHL Draft, also scored in a 3-2 win against Philadelphia on Sunday.

Boychuk, Ladd help Islanders defeat Flyers

Johnny Boychuk and Andrew Ladd scored in the third period to help the New York Islanders defeat the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 at Barclays Center.
Boychuk broke a 1-1 tie with 8:41 left when he skated into the slot and one-timed Yannick Turcotte's feed past Alex Lyon. Ladd's power-play goal made it 3-1 with 2:50 remaining.
Devon Toews also scored for New York.
Travis Konecny gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead 52 seconds into the game when he put Will O'Neill's rebound past Thomas Greiss.
Toews tied it at 9:12 of the first period, with an assist from Jeff Kubiak. Toews, a defenseman, played left wing after Michael Dal Colle was a late scratch because of a lower-body injury.
Flyers defenseman TJ Brennan made it 3-2 with 1:06 remaining.
Greiss played the first two periods and made 17 saves. He was replaced by Kristers Gudlevskis, who stopped nine of 10 shots.
Lyon made 26 saves.

Tarasenko scores twice for Blues against Blue Jackets

Vladimir Tarasenko scored 2:58 into overtime to give the St. Louis Blues a 3-2 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Scottrade Center.
Blues forward Jaden Schwartz tied it 2-2 with a shorthanded goal 15:05 into the second period.
Zac Dalpe gave the Blue Jackets a 2-1 lead with goals at 7:36 and 10:54 of the second. Tarasenko gave St. Louis a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal 6:51 into the first period.
Jake Allen made 11 saves on 13 shots in the first 39:42 for St. Louis. Brad Thiessen made 25 saves on 27 shots for Columbus in the first two periods.

Oilers score three goals in second period, defeat Jets

Jussi Jokinen had a goal and an assist to help the Edmonton Oilers defeat the Winnipeg Jets 3-1 at Bell MTS Place.
Mark Letestu and Jujhar Khaira scored 13 seconds apart for Edmonton in the second period. Letestu's power-play goal tied the game 1-1 at 2:14 before Khaira gave the Oilers a 2-1 lead at 2:27.
Jokinen made it 3-1 at 13:59 of the second period.
Laurent Brossoit started in goal for the Oilers and made 13 saves. Nick Ellis made 20 saves in relief.
Nikolaj Ehlers gave Winnipeg a 1-0 lead 5:34 into the first period. Steve Mason made 21 saves.

Canucks rally past Flames behind Chatfield, Virtanen

Defenseman Jalen Chatfield had a goal and two assists to help the Vancouver Canucks rally for a 5-3 win against the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome.
Jake Virtanen had a goal and an assist, and Anton Rodin, Brock Boeser and Nikolay Goldobin scored for Vancouver, which trailed 3-1 after the first period. Thatcher Demko made 23 saves.
Tanner Glass, Ryan Lomberg and Mark Jankowski scored in the first period for Calgary. Dillon Dube had two assists.
Virtanen's power-play goal gave the Canucks a 4-3 lead with 2:53 left in the second period. Chatfield made it 5-3 with 6:06 remaining.
Flames goalie Jon Gillies made 19 saves through the second period. Tyler Parsons made six saves on seven shots in the third.

Fischer, Keller each score two goals to push Coyotes past Ducks

Christian Fischer and Clayton Keller each scored twice to help the Arizona Coyotes to a 5-1 win against the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center.
Max Domi had a goal and an assist, and Louis Domingue made 20 saves for the Coyotes.
Fischer scored his first goal 24 seconds into the game. He gave Arizona a 3-1 lead at 14:32 of the second period.
Keller scored at 5:10 of the second period and again with 1:22 remaining in the game. He assisted on Domi's goal late in the second.
Max Jones scored for the Ducks. Kevin Boyle made 26 saves.
