NASHVILLE -- Nashville Predators defensemen Roman Josi and P.K. Subban traded in their hockey sticks for cooking utensils at the Music City Food and Wine Festival on Friday.

Subban and Josi participated as celebrity sous chefs in a "Friday Night Throwdown." Chef Anne Burrell was the third member of their team, which competed against Tennessee Titans cornerback Logan Ryan and safety Kevin Byard, who were teamed up with chef Tim Love.
The Predators' team emerged victorious with a pappardelle dish with crab, sweet potato and country ham, a seared piece of beef with a sweet potato and grape mash with garlic and ginger underneath and a final dish with sweet potato and country ham hash and a fried egg.

"It was fun," Josi said. "Obviously I'm glad we won. It was a blast. We had a good time. Pretty much just chopped a lot of things and [Burrell] told me what to do, but it was a blast. Something I've never done before."

Even though Josi and Subban won the competition, Josi believes his culinary skills far outweigh those of Subban.
"Like if I'm a 10, he's probably a one out of 10," Josi said. "I don't think P.K. can cook."
It was the second consecutive year that Josi has attended the Music City Food and Wine Festival. Community events like this have affected Josi into calling Nashville his second home outside of Switzerland.
"This became a home for me too," Josi said. "I love the city. I went to this festival last year, and it's an amazing festival. It's so much fun. Like you see the music, the food, the wine, everything combined. It's just a great experience. There's so many cool things going on in Nashville, and I love being a part of it and I love being in the community and doing fun stuff like that. The city really has become home to me too."
