Hamilton bear

Matthew Strome won't have a better assist this season.

The Philadelphia Flyers prospect who plays forward for Hamilton of the Ontario Hockey League helped a struggling fan toss a comically oversized bear onto the ice during the second period of the Bulldogs game against Sault Sainte Marie.

One fellow tried to toss the huge bear on the ice after Brandon Saigeon scored at 12:15 of the second. Strome saw the guy was having a hard time and initially reached over the glass with his stick before finally leaping to ensure it reached the ice.
That bear was one of the 12,550 the Bulldogs collected Saturday, which were donated to Salvation Army and Toy Mountain in Toronto.
