Hurricanes dads and mentors do Storm Surge celebration in suite

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree and, in the case of the Carolina Hurricanes Mentors' Trip, vice versa.

The Hurricanes had their mentors along for a road trip to Sunrise, Florida for a game against the Panthers on Thursday. Fourteen fathers, a brother, an uncle and a father-in-law, filled a suite at BB&T Center.
And, after a 4-3 win, the mentors did what the Hurricanes never do away from their home ice: the Storm Surge.
As you may already know, the Hurricanes have brought fun back to winning games, creating unique celebrations following home victories.
After a road victory, however, the team did as they always do and left the ice after the final horn. So the mentors brought a little bit of Raleigh to Sunrise.

Because, if you are going to make the trip, might as well have as much fun as you can.
Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon hit the nail on the head with a pair of tweets following the game.

The Hurricanes family members went with the traditional Skol clap to start, then went into "The Floss" and then a quick "Dab" before the room erupted.
A day later after Carolina's 3-0 win against the Dallas Stars, they were at it again, playing a game of hide-and-seek after the Skol clap.

It is officially safe to say the Storm Surge is catching on.
