McGinn

Brock McGinn agreed to a two-year, $4.2 million contract with the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday. It has an average annual value of $2.1 million.

McGinn, a restricted free agent forward, was scheduled to have an arbitration hearing Saturday.
"We're relieved to have this settled before going to arbitration," Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell said. "Brock was an important part of what we accomplished last season, and we're happy to have him as part of our group moving forward."
The 25-year-old had 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists) in 82 regular-season games with the Hurricanes last season and six points (two goals, four assists) in 15 Stanley Cup Playoff games. He scored the double-overtime goal in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference First Round against the Washington Capitals that gave the Hurricanes their first playoff series victory since 2009.
Selected by Carolina in the second round (No. 47) of the 2012 NHL Draft, McGinn has 76 points (36 goals, 40 assists) in 240 regular-season games and six points in 15 playoff games.
