Sundqvist takes Cup on helicopter ride in Sweden

The Stanley Cup was flying in the clouds with Oskar Sundqvist on Wednesday.

The St. Louis Blues forward transported the Cup into Skelleftea, Sweden by helicopter for his day with the trophy.

Sundqvist spent Tuesday with the Cup by hosting a public event in his hometown of Boden, Sweden.

After his day at home, Sundqvist took the Cup roughly 100 miles to Skelleftea via helicopter. He and the trophy arrived in grand fashion, and after the helicopter landed, Sundqvist carried the trophy and hoisted it over his head to the delight of onlookers.

Sundqvist then held a public event at the Skelleftea Kraft Arena, where he played junior hockey for five seasons from 2010-15 before joining the Pittsburgh Penguins, before hosting another event at Citykompaniet, a shopping mall in town.

Sundqvist, who was in the Penguins organization when they won consecutive Stanley Cup championships before being traded to the Blues for Ryan Reaves on June 23, 2017, had four goals and nine points in 25 Stanley Cup Playoff games for St. Louis.
