DAL NYI 11.18 recap2

NEW YORK -- The Dallas Stars' top line accounted for nine points, including three goals, in a 6-2 win against the New York Islanders at Barclays Center on Sunday.

Alexander Radulov (two goals, one assist), Tyler Seguin (one goal, two assists) and Jamie Benn (three assists) each had three points. It's the first time they've each had at least two points in the same game since Oct. 13, when they combined for six points (two goals, four assists) in a 5-3 win against the Anaheim Ducks.
Radulov missed 10 of 11 games from Oct. 19-Nov. 10.

"We've been waiting for them to get hot again since the fourth game of the year," Stars coach Jim Montgomery said. "I hope they get on a roll."
Esa Lindell had two goals in a game for the first time in his NHL career (177 games) and Roope Hintz, who was recalled from Texas of the American Hockey League on Saturday, scored his first NHL goal.

Jason Spezza's assist on Hintz's goal was his 900th NHL point (328 goals, 572 assists) in his 1,009th game. Ben Bishop made 37 saves.
The six goals were the most Dallas (11-7-2) has scored in a game this season. The Stars are 3-1-1 in their past five games. They play the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Monday.
"With back to backs, it was really important that we could really spread the [ice] time in the third period, which is a luxury in this League," Montgomery said. "If our big line doesn't have the night they had, it's still 3-1, 3-2 there right down to the end."
The Islanders (10-7-2) lost in regulation at home for the first time since Oct. 6, ending a seven-game home point streak (5-0-2).
Thomas Greiss made 16 saves before he was replaced by Robin Lehner (11 saves) in the second period. Anthony Beauvillier and Scott Mayfield each scored.
"I thought our battle level came down and you can't; you know they're going to raise their battle level," Islanders coach Barry Trotz said. "I thought a couple guys tried to go around the game instead of through the game, and you can't do this in this league. And I thought some guys got pushed out of the game and that's not good enough. We were really easy to play against tonight. We weren't hard, and that's not us."
Beauvillier, who had a hat trick against the Rangers on Thursday, gave the Islanders a 1-0 lead at 3:36 of the first period.
But the Stars scored four straight goals in the second, starting with Lindell's first at 2:09, when he beat Greiss with a wrist shot through traffic to make it 1-1.

DAL@NYI: Lindell buries a wrister from the slot

"I think the quick goal helped us a lot to go on a roll," Radulov said.
Hintz scored with a wrist shot from the left circle 2:31 later to make it 2-1. Spezza fought off Nick Leddy on the wall to gain possession and set up the goal.
Spezza also had an assist on rookie defenseman Miro Heiskanen's first NHL goal on Oct. 25.

"I love being a part of guys' first goals," Spezza said. "They'll always remember you. Everybody remembers their first goal. Firsts are fun. It's really cool."
Lindell's second goal came from the right circle at 7:08 and gave Dallas a 3-1 lead. Lehner replaced Greiss before the face-off. He was beaten by Seguin's high shot from the left circle at 14:07 that extended the lead to 4-1.
"Really, the game went south on us in probably the first six or seven minutes of the second period," Trotz said. "I didn't like the fact that we started feeling sorry for ourselves. Don't feel sorry for yourself; let's get into the game."
Mayfield scored 24 seconds into the third, banking a shot into the net off Bishop to make it 4-2. But Radulov's breakaway goal at 7:35 made it 5-2, and he scored again at 9:16 to make it 6-2.

They said it

"I felt we were going, we were reading off each other and tried to move the puck faster, simple plays and [we were] winning our battles. That's the key." -- Stars forward Alexander Radulov

DAL@NYI: Radulov pots 100th career goal

"I heard Thomas took blame for a couple goals. No, they're not hiding behind the goalie tonight. Sorry. Thomas has played very well for us over the course and he's covered up a lot of our mistakes. So, no, I'm putting this on the team." -- Islanders coach Barry Trotz
