Wood suspended two games for boarding

NEW YORK - New Jersey Devils forward Miles Wood has been suspended for two games, without pay, for boarding Tampa Bay Lightning forward Vladislav Namestnikov during NHL Game No. 898 in Tampa on Saturday, Feb. 17, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 4:54 of the second period. Wood was assessed minor penalties for boarding and roughing on the play.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Wood will forfeit $9,946.24. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
