Evgeny Kuznetsov

Stanley Cup winners regularly eat ice cream or cereal from the trophy, but Evgeny Kuznetsov filled it with something different Wednesday.

The Washington Capitals forward ate Russian-style dumplings from the Stanley Cup as part of his day with the trophy in his hometown of Chelyabinsk, Russia on Wednesday.

"I'm so glad to bring the Cup to Chelyabinsk," Kuznetsov said. "It was a dream for me."
Kuznetsov, who played five seasons for Chelyabinsk of the Kontinental Hockey League before joining the Capitals during the 2013-14 NHL season, spent more than two hours posing for photos with fans and the Cup at the town's Traktor Ice Arena.

Kuznetsov and the Cup were then honored during a KHL game between HC Traktor and Metallurg.

Kuznetsov led the Capitals with 32 points in 24 Stanley Cup Playoff games, helping them win the championship for the first time in their 43 seasons.
