Kovalchuk stars as film director in new Kings commercial

Ilya Kovalchuk is the new star in Hollywood, and he's ready to turn Tinseltown on its head.

The Los Angeles Kings forward was on set in the director's chair and dialing up a winning scene in a new ad that was unveiled Tuesday.

Kovalchuk, who signed a three-year contract with the Kings this offseason, was brought in as "one of the best" and "a true professional," according to the one of the film's set managers.
"This is going to be amazing," she says.
"Everyone ready?" Kovalchuk asks in Russian. "Action!"
Kovalchuk may be short on directorial experience, but he does have 417 NHL goals in his career, and hopes to score a few more for the Kings and their fans this season.
