Ryan Miller may have been a stone wall in his time with the Buffalo Sabres, but on Friday he couldn't help but show a little emotion.
The veteran of 18 NHL seasons, his first 11 in Buffalo, couldn't help but share how he felt after the announcement that his No. 30 would be retired by the Sabres next season.
I am overwhelmed. The Sabres organization, the fans and the city of Buffalo mean so much to me. Thank you! https://t.co/2klfj3aWQl
"I am overwhelmed. The Sabres organization, the fans and the city of Buffalo mean so much to me. Thank you!" Miller wrote on Twitter. He wrote the thank you on top of sharing a Sabres post that included a video of Miller and his family getting the news of the honor at KeyBank Center.
The video was narrated by another Sabres legend, recently inducted into the team's Hall of Fame, longtime broadcaster Rick Jeanneret, who retired at the conclusion of this past season.
