Brock Boeser

Another game, another goal from Brock Boeser.
The Vancouver Canucks forward scored for the third straight game in a 5-1 loss at the Winnipeg Jets on Monday. It was his 16th goal of the season, which leads all NHL rookies; Chicago Blackhawks forward Alex DeBrincat is second with 12.

Boeser is one of eight rookies since 1989-90 to score at least 16 goals in his first 28 games.
Forward Teemu Selanne is the leader of the group, scoring 23 in 28 games with the Winnipeg Jets in 1992-93. Center Eric Lindros (21, 1992-93) of the Philadelphia Flyers and forward Alex Ovechkin (18, 2005-06) of the Washington Capitals are the other two players with more than 16.
Forward Patrik Laine (2016-17, Jets), center Evgeni Malkin (2006-07, Pittsburgh Penguins), forward Gilbert Dionne (1990-91, Montreal Canadiens) and forward Donald Audette (1991-92, Buffalo Sabres) each scored 16 in his first 28 games.
Though Boeser joined some pretty good company, the story of this game was forward Mathieu Perreault, who helped the
Jets end a three-game losing streak
.
