Jesperi Kotkaniemi scored in his Montreal Canadiens debut, helping them to a 3-1 win against the New Jersey Devils at Bell Centre.

Kotkaniemi, the No. 3 pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, scored Montreal's third goal in 1:32 at 4:40 of the third period. Victor Mete made it 1-1 at 3:08 before Charles Hudon gave Montreal a 2-1 lead at 4:11.
Antti Niemi started for the Canadiens and made eight saves in 30:56. Charles Lindgren made the save on all eight shots he faced.
Blake Speers gave the Devils a 1-0 lead with a shorthanded goal at 6:42 of the first period.
Eddie Lack started for New Jersey and made the save on all 13 shots he faced through the first two periods. Mackenzie Blackwood made nine saves in the third.

Rangers defeat Devils in OT on Pionk goal

Neal Pionk scored 1:20 into overtime to give the New York Rangers a 4-3 win against the New Jersey Devils at Prudential Center on Monday.
It was David Quinn's first game as New York coach after being hired from Boston University on May 23.
Rookie forward Lias Andersson scored two goals for New York. Pavel Buchnevich also scored. Starting goalie Alexandar Georgiev made 16 saves on 18 shots in 36:48, and Marek Mazanec made eight saves in relief.
Nick Lappin scored two goals for the Devils. Rookie forward John Quenneville also scored. Starting goalie Keith Kinkaid made 14 saves on 16 shots in 39:40, and Cameron Johnson made 10 saves in relief.

Gostisbehere powers Flyers past Islanders

Shayne Gostisbehere scored two power-play goals, and Claude Giroux had two assists to help the Philadelphia Flyers to a 3-1 win against the New York Islanders at Wells Fargo Center.
Mikhail Vorobyov gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead at 16:56 of the first period before Gostisbehere scored his first goal at 19:31.
Gostisbehere scored again at 5:30 of the second period to give the Flyers a 3-0 lead.
Mike Sislo scored for the Islanders at 10:05 of the second period.
Michal Neuvirth allowed one goal on nine shots in 29:58 for Philadelphia before being relieved by Carter Hart, who made 11 saves.
Thomas Greiss started for New York and allowed three goals on 13 shots. He was replaced midway through the game by Jeremy Smith, who made seven saves.

Ullmark, Johansson spark Sabres past Blue Jackets

Linus Ullmark and Jonas Johansson combined to make 36 saves for the Buffalo Sabres in a 4-1 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.
Ullmark played the first two periods and made 20 saves on 21 shots. Johansson, a third-round pick (No. 61) at the 2014 NHL Draft, made 16 saves in the third period.
Patrik Berglund, Nathan Beaulieu and Kyle Criscuolo scored for the Sabres in the second period. Andrew Oglevie gave Buffalo a 4-1 lead at 2:14 of the third.
David Savard scored the Blue Jackets' only goal at 6:39 of the second period.
Matiss Kivlenieks made seven saves as the starting goalie for Columbus but left after the first period with a lower-body injury. Brad Thiessen allowed four goals on 13 shots for Columbus.
The Blue Jackets were 0-for-5 on the power play.

Forsberg scores hat trick for Predators in win against Panthers

Filip Forsberg scored three goals to help the Nashville Predators defeat the Florida Panthers 5-3 for their second win of the day against Florida at BB&T Center.
The Predators won 5-0 in the earlier game.
Forsberg completed the hat trick with an empty-net goal with 14 seconds left. Kevin Fiala and Ryan Johansen also scored for Nashville, which got 12 saves on 13 shots from Pekka Rinne in 29:35. Troy Grosenick made 11 saves in relief of Rinne.
Nick Bjugstad, Jacob MacDonald and Patrick Bajkov scored for Florida. James Reimer made 16 saves on 19 shots before being relieved to start the third period by Sam Montembeault, who made seven saves.

Saros makes 24 saves, Predators shut out Panthers

Juuse Saros made 24 saves to help the Nashville Predators to a 5-0 win against the Florida Panthers in the first of two games at BB&T Center.
Defenseman Filip Pyrochta had a goal and assist for the Predators, who scored three goals in the third period.
Calle Jarnkrok, P.K. Subban, Rocco Grimaldi and Frederick Gaudreau also scored for Nashville. Tom McCollum made three saves after he replaced Saros with 7:15 remaining in the third period.
Michael Hutchinson made 26 saves for the Panthers, who went 0-5 on the power play.

Morrow, Brossoit lift Jets past Wild

Joe Morrow broke a tie at 11:45 of the third period, and Laurent Brossoit made 39 saves for the Winnipeg Jets in a 2-1 win against the Minnesota Wild at Bell MTS Place.
Morrow gave the Jets the lead when he took a pass from Patrik Laine and beat Andrew Hammond with a snap shot from the right face-off circle.
Marko Dano scored at 13:12 of the first period to give Winnipeg a 1-0 lead.
Matt Hendricks scored for Minnesota to tie it 1-1 at 2:07 of the third period.
Hammond made 28 saves for the Wild.

Yamamoto gets three points in Oilers win against Flames

Kailer Yamamoto had two goals and an assist to help the Edmonton Oilers to a 7-4 win against the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome.
Dillon Dube, a second-round pick (No. 56) at the 2016 NHL Draft, had a hat trick for the Flames. He gave Calgary a 1-0 lead 23 seconds into the game, and then scored two more goals in the first 4:13 of the second period.
Yamamoto's second goal broke a 3-3 tie at 6:07 of the third period. Patrick Russell made it 5-3 at 17:02, Pontus Aberg scored for Edmonton at 17:25, and Russell scored into an empty net with 16 seconds left to make it 7-4.
Oilers defensemen Ethan Bear and Evan Bouchard also scored, and Ryan McLeod and Tyler Benson each had two assists.
Flames forward Andrew Mangiapane made it 6-4 at 18:59 of the third period.
Mikko Koskinen made 16 saves for Edmonton. He was relieved at the start of the third period by Shane Starrett, who made five saves.
