Ottawa Senators Bryan Murray Decal

Bryan Murray may be gone, but he won't be far from the minds of Ottawa Senators players this season.

The Senators unveiled a helmet decal they will wear that honors their former coach and general manager, who died of colon cancer at the age of 74 on Aug. 12.

The sticker has Murray's initials surrounded by the words "family man, friend, coach and mentor." Murray coached the Senators from 2005-08, helping them reach the Stanley Cup Playoffs three times and advance to the Stanley Cup Final in 2007 before losing to the Anaheim Ducks in five games.
Murray also was Ottawa's general manager from 2007-16, staying on for two seasons after he was diagnosed with cancer in 2014. After resigning in 2016, he was a special adviser to GM Pierre Dorion for the 2016-17 season.
