The Sabres are 0-2-2 in their past four games, with each loss coming by one goal, after winning 10 straight. Linus Ullmark will start for Buffalo with Carter Hutton day to day because of an upper-body injury. Forward Kyle Okposo will play in his 700th NHL game.
The Flyers are 2-5-2 in their past nine games and have allowed at least four goals in five of their past seven. Center Sean Couturier won't play because of a lower-body injury. Coach Dave Hakstol said he's day to day.

Varone was recalled by the Flyers on Friday from Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League. ... Pominville will play after missing the past two games because of an upper-body injury. Hunwick is getting closer to making his Buffalo debut, but coach Phil Housley said he's not ready yet.
