Pontus-Aberg

Forward Pontus Aberg signed a two-year, $1.3 million contract with the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. The contract has an average annual value of $650,000.

Aberg, who became a restricted free agent July 1, scored the winning goal in Nashville's 3-1 victory against the Anaheim Ducks in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final, a series the Predators won in six games. He also scored a goal in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He had five points (two goals, three assists) in 16 playoff games.
Aberg, 23, was selected by Nashville in the second round (No. 37) of the 2012 NHL Draft. He had two points (one goal, one assist) in 15 regular-season games with the Predators last season, as well as 52 points (31 goals, 21 assists) in 56 games with Milwaukee of the American Hockey League.
