PITTSBURGH -- Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask left midway through the second period against the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena on Sunday because of an illness.
After allowing a second goal, Rask exited down the runway to the locker room during a stoppage with 8:12 remaining in the period. Rookie goalie Zane McIntyre replaced Rask, who made 20 saves. Rask is 22-11-4 with a 2.08 goals-against average and .920 save percentage this season. He had allowed at least three goals in four of his past five starts entering Sunday since making 25 saves to shut out the Florida Panthers 4-0 on Jan. 7. Boston trailed Pittsburgh 2-1 after two periods.
