The Game

The Vegas Golden Knights and Buffalo Sabres are each looking to make it two in a row when they face off at KeyBank Center on Monday.
A strong effort from Carter Hutton and two goals from Conor Sheary helped the Sabres beat the New York Rangers 3-1 on Saturday, their first win of the season.
With 1:31 remaining in regulation and Marc-Andre Fleury pulled for the extra attacker, Max Pacioretty's first goal with the Golden Knights tied the game and Erik Haula scored in the shootout to give Vegas the comeback win.

Players to watch

Pacioretty had five shots on goal against Minnesota after having just one in the season opener.
Sheary has five goals in his past seven games, dating back to last season.

They said it

"We played real good, and if we would have lost the game 1-0, it would have been tough to lose it. But again, we played our game tonight. We played fast, we played hard and we had lots of chances." -- Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant on the win against the Minnesota Wild
"You look at the players that are out, certainly there's going to be decisions to be made. That always pushes players' game to a higher level. It's a good situation to be in. It's unfortunate our guys are banged up a little bit. It's good to have depth." -- Sabres coach Phil Housley
