EDMONTON, AB – The Edmonton Oilers announced Monday morning they have recalled goaltender Ryan Fanti from the ECHL's Fort Wayne Komets to serve as their emergency backup.

The 24-year-old netminder has split the 2023-24 season between the Komets and AHL's Bakersfield Condors, making his only game appearances with Fort Wayne and posting a 9-6-2 record with a 2.75 goals-against average and .915 save percentage.

Fanti signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Oilers organization on March 28, 2022 after playing two NCAA seasons with the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

He went viral across the hockey world in March 2023 when he scored a goal with the Komets.
