Play-by-Play

Moon came to the Oilers for the 2020-21 season after 22 years with the Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League. In Red Deer, he called the games and served as Director of Media Relations. Prior to his time in Red Deer, Moon was the radio voice of the Nanaimo Clippers in the British Columbia Hockey League for three seasons. He was also the team’s goaltender coach for two years.

Over the course of his broadcasting career, he also worked on junior hockey telecasts on TSN, Sportsnet and Shaw, including the Memorial Cup in 1993, 1995 and 2000, as well as the World Junior Championship in 1995.

Moon grew up in Edmonton and played four years of junior hockey (AJHL, SJHL, WHL), graduating from the Saskatoon Blades. He then attended NAIT in the Radio and Television program, taking advantage of his WHL scholarship, and played one season with the Ooks in the ACAC.
