NOTABLES
* The Pens fell to 1-7-1 in their last 9 games following a setback to the Sens on Saturday in Ottawa. Pittsburgh's 7-8-3 record has them tied with Florida for last place in the East.
* The Pens will be looking to turn their luck around against Buffalo, a team they've had a lot of success against in the past. The Pens have a 15-game point streak (14-0-1) against the Sabres - the longest such run for either team in the history of the series - and have won 8 straight home games versus Buffalo.
* Captain Sidney Crosby will miss his third straight game tonight with an upper-body injury, but skated with the team for the first time this morning and said he's happy with how he's feeling.
* Kris Letang will play in his 700th game tonight while Bryan Rust is suiting up for his 200th.
* The Sabres enter tonight on their first 5-game winning streak since 2012, which is the active longest streak in the NHL.
* Conor Sheary, who helped the Pens win back-to-back Stanley Cup championships, will play in Pittsburgh for the first time since being traded to the Sabres in June. During his 3 years here, he played a big part in the team's success, with his shining moment coming in Game 2 of the 2016 Stanley Cup Final against San Jose when he scored the game-winning goal off a set play in OT.
* Jeff Skinner, acquired from Carolina in August, leads the team and ranks 2nd in the NHL with 14 goals, while Jack Eichel paces the club with 22 points.
* Carter Hutton has been in net for 4 of Buffalo's last 5 wins, posting a .950 save percentage and 1.42 goals-against average in those games. After relieving Matt Murray to start the 2nd period in Ottawa, Casey DeSmith will get the nod tonight for the Pens.

Only small personal bags (purses, baby or diaper bags, etc.) will be permitted inside the building and all items are subject to searches upon entrance.
