On Wednesday evening, Nashville Predators Head Coach Andrew Brunette and his staff teamed up with the Preds Foundation to host Bruno & Friends’ Preds & Pins Bowling Tournament.

The annual tournament held at Hermitage Strike and Spare raises money for the 365 Pediatric Cancer Fund presented by Twice Daily, which helps fund pediatric cancer research at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

This is the 10th edition of the bowling tournament, but the first time the Predators coaching staff hosted the event. Joining Brunette as co-hosts this year were assistant coaches Todd Richards, Dan Hinote and Derek MacKenzie, as well as goaltending coach Ben Vanderklok.

“It’s a great event,” Brunette said. “We’re having a lot of fun. It’s a good break from the grind of hockey to get out here and see the fans of our great organization and team. It’s a nice change of venue for a great cause.”

The evening featured two hours of bowling, a knockout buffet and refreshments to help participants keep their eyes on the prize. The winning team went home with a custom, team-signed Preds bowling pin for each member. Richards’ team finished first among the Preds coaches, earning him bragging rights for the rest of the year.

Preds forwards Philip Tomasino, Cole Smith, Luke Evangelista and Kiefer Sherwood also joined in on the fun, but they weren't the only local celebrities to make an appearance. Preds broadcasters Chris Mason, Willy Daunic and Hal Gill, as well as other big Music City names - like former Tennessee Titans wide receiver Derrick Mason, 2023 CMA Personality of the Year Wayne D and the cast of the CMA- and ACM-winning radio program The Bobby Bones Show - also hit the lanes for a great cause.

Brunette and the Preds Foundation were also thrilled to host a team of patients and families from Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. The 365 Pediatric Cancer Fund presented by Twice Daily works with the hospital to raise funds and awareness for cancer research and coordinates with the team to host a series of opportunities that enable the hospital's young patrons and their families to get a special dose of the Smashville hockey experience.

“I think it’s always great to be part of the community through everything that’s going on with the Preds Foundation and [The 365 Fund],” Brunette said. “The causes are unbelievable, and tonight’s another opportunity [to help].”
