-The season opens on Oct. 5 when the Sabres host Montreal at 7 p.m. at KeyBank Center.
-The second week of the season will see the Sabres head out west for a four-game road trip with stops in San Jose (Oct. 12), Los Angeles (Oct. 14), Anaheim (Oct. 15) and their first-ever game in Las Vegas (Oct. 17).
-Vegas will be in Buffalo on March 10 to open up a six-game homestand that runs until March 23.
-It's a One Buffalo Weekend at the end of October. The Sabres host the Sharks at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28 and the Bills will take on the Raiders at 1 p.m. the following day.
-Have family in town for Thanksgiving? We have games the Wednesday before against Minnesota and on Black Friday against Edmonton. Connor McDavid, the newly crowned Most Valuable Player should be in town for it and there's always a buzz when he matches up against Jack Eichel.
-On December 1, the reigning Stanley Cup champions (and general manager Jason Botterill's former organization) the Pittsburgh Penguins stop by. Phil Housley's first match against Nashville will come on March 19. The Sabres go to Music City on March 31.
-As the IIHF World Junior Championship lands in Buffalo, the Sabres will hit the road for a series of games away from Western New York. They'll spend the trip after Christmas in the New York City area with games at the Islanders on Dec. 27, at the Devils on Dec. 29, and then the big one…
-The 2018 NHL Bridgestone Winter Classic will be played outdoors at 1 p.m. at Citi Field against the Rangers.
-Six afternoon home games are sprinkled throughout the season (Oct. 9 against New Jersey, Oct. 28 against San Jose, Jan. 20 against Dallas, Feb. 17 against Los Angeles, March 10 against Vegas and March 17 against Chicago).
-After tying for the league high with 19 back-to-back sets in 2016-17, the Sabres will play 16 back-to-back sets in 2017-18.
-The regular-season home finale is on April 4 against Ottawa. Buffalo's regular season once again ends with back-to-back games in the Sunshine State (April 6 at Tampa and April 7 at Florida). Buffalo wraps up the season with seven of its last nine games against Atlantic Division rivals, including each of the last four.
