John Hayden scored with 6:18 left in regulation to spoil Spencer Knight's shutout bid in the Buffalo Sabres' 6-1 loss to the Florida Panthers on Monday at KeyBank Center.
Craig Anderson made 25 saves.
Spencer Knight stopped 28 shots and six different Panthers scored: Brandon Montour, Noel Acciari, Anthony Duclair, Carter Verhaeghe, Patric Hornqvist and Aleksander Barkov, who recorded three points.
Buffalo finished 0-for-5 on the power play and was just 1-for-3 on the penalty kill.

How it happened

Montour put Florida ahead 1-0 at the 5:22 mark of the first period when he sneaked in from the point and one-timed a shot past Anderson.
Florida thought the had a two-goal lead with 10:11 left in the opening period, but upon review, it was determined that the puck slid in under the side of the net and the goal was called back.
The Panthers would eventually go up 2-0 when Acciari cut in on goal and roofed on 5:54 into the second period. Buffalo was outscored 4-0 in the second period.
Duclair scored on the power play 1:15 later to extend Florida's lead to three.
With 8:21 to play, Verhaeghe scored and then 1:03 after that, Hornqvist made it 5-0.
After outshooting Florida 11-3 after 20 minutes, the Sabres found themselves outshot 23-18 heading into the third period.
The Panthers added another power-play goal when Barkov scored 6:50 into the third period.
