20220120 Quinn Mediawall Final Horn

Buffalo Sabres rookie Jack Quinn recorded the first points of his NHL career, but the Dallas Stars rallied back Thursday night to spoil the good vibes.
Quinn posted a goal and an assist in his second career game. However, Dallas rallied back in the third period to hand Buffalo a 5-4 loss at KeyBank Center.
Jason Robertson scored the eventual game-winner with 3:32 remaining in regulation on Dallas' fourth power-play goal of the game.
The Sabres were outshot 47-24, which resulted in Sabres goaltender Aaron Dell making a career-high 42 saves.
Rasmus Dahlin had a goal and two assists to tie a career high with three points, and Henri Jokiharju had a multi-point game as well with two helpers. Alex Tuch and Dylan Cozens were Buffalo's other goal scorers.
Robertson finished with two goals and an assist. Tyler Seguin also scored twice and Roope Hintz added another for Dallas. Braden Holtby stopped 20 shots to earn the victory.
Buffalo's power play went 1-for-3, but the team was just 1-for-5 on the penalty kill.

How it happened

The Sabres took a 2-0 lead early thanks to a pair of goals you'll want to watch over and over.
First Dahlin walked in from the blue line, juked around Joel Kiviranta, and deked to slide a backhand in past Holtby 2:47 into the contest.
Then Quinn wired one in off the post while on the power play 3:50 later.
Robertson got the Stars within one with 3:10 remaining in the period when he wristed in a loose puck from the slot while on the man advantage.
Buffalo struck quickly in the second period when Victor Olofsson sprung Cozens on a breakaway and he buried it 1:09 into the period. Quinn picked up the secondary assist for the first helper of his career.
Hintz redirected in a pass from Robertson for the Stars' second power-play goal 5:26 into the second to put Dallas within one.
With 8:20 remaining in the second, Dallas tied things up when Seguin's attempt went off Mark Pysyk and into the back of the net.
Tuch wristed in a shot from the left faceoff circle with 5:47 left for his first goal at KeyBank Center as a member of the Sabres.
The Stars scored on the power play again with 7:37 to go when Seguin potted his second of the night.
Robertson potted another one with the man advantage with 3:32 remaining to put Dallas up for good.
Buffalo pulled the goaltender with under two minutes to go and put on some strong pressure, but couldn't pot a tying goal.
