20211129 Sabres Kraken Final Horn Mediawall

Brett Murray scored the first goal of his NHL career, Jeff Skinner scored twice and Dylan Cozens also tallied for the Buffalo Sabres on Monday, but it wasn't enough in a 7-4 loss to the Seattle Kraken at KeyBank Center.
Kyle Okposo recorded two assists to extend his point streak to four games (2+3). Dustin Tokarski made 25 saves. Murray also logged an assist for his first career multi-point game.
But the Kraken poured it on with two goals each from Jared McCann and Mason Appleton as well as markers from Carson Soucy, Brandon Tanev and Jaden Schwartz.
Chris Driedger stopped 32 shots for Seattle.

How it happened

The Kraken scored three times in the first period, including two shorthanded goals.
Soucy opened the scoring while Buffalo was on the power play 5:47 into the contest with a blast from the point.
Then with 5:20 remaining, Tanev cut in on goal and scored while down a man to make it 2-0. Seattle increased its lead with 55.1 seconds left in the period when McCann scored his ninth goal of the season.
Murray out Buffalo on the board 1:53 into the second period, cashing in a rebound off an Okposo shot.
The Kraken regained their three-goal when McCann one-timed a shot all alone from the slot in past Tokarski at the 7:59 mark of the middle period.
The Sabres scored on the power play with 2:33 left in the period thanks to Jeff Skinner, but the Kraken responded right away. Appleton potted his first of the season with 1:51 remaining. Former Sabre Will Borgen earned his first career point with the primary assist.

Skinner scored his second of the night 37 seconds into the third period when he cashed in on a Victor Olofsson rebound to make it 5-3.
Scwartz put the Kraken up by four with 6:16 left and Cozens deflected in a shot by Okposo with 1:33 remaining in regulation.
Appleton buried a shot into an empty net with 24.3 seconds left for the game's final goal.
Buffalo's power play was 1-for-4 and they didn't need to kill any penalties in the game.
