Davidson, 30, played six games for the Sabres last season, logging seven shots and averaging 15:20 of ice time.
He re-signed with Buffalo in July on a one-year contract.
The 6-foot-2, left-shot defenseman has appeared in 180 games spanning seven NHL seasons. He has tallied 49 points (15+32) in 192 career AHL contests, including a career-high 20 points (3+7) in 34 games with the Stockton Heat (Calgary Flames affiliate) in 2019-20.
