The Buffalo Sabres have recalled forward Rasmus Asplund and goaltender Dustin Tokarski from the taxi squad, the team announced Monday.
Asplund has appeared in five games this season, tallying one goal and averaging 11:40 of ice time. He skated on a line with Riley Sheahan and Kyle Okposo during Buffalo's two most recent practices. Tokarski joins Carter Hutton as the second goaltender on the active roster following the departure of Jonas Johansson, for whom the Sabres acquired a sixth-round pick from the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday. Tokarski has a .932 save percentage in two games with Rochester this season. The Sabres visit the New York Rangers to open a four-game road trip at 7 p.m. Interim head coach Don Granato is expected to give pregame updates around 5:30.
