The Buffalo Sabres have reassigned forward C.J. Smith and defenseman Brandon Davidson from the Rochester Americans to the taxi squad, the team announced Saturday.
Smith and Davidson were reassigned to Rochester on Friday and both played in the Amerks' 6-2 loss to the Syracuse Crunch. Smith tallied an assist and tied for the team lead with four shots; Davidson added three shots from the back end.
The taxi squad now includes four players: Smith, Davidson, forward Jean-Sebastien Dea, and goaltender Michael Houser.
The Sabres host the Rangers on Saturday at 7 p.m. Coverage on MSG begins at 6:30.
