The loss was Germany's first of the tournament after a 3-0 start. Rieder notched his assist on a rush during the second period, drawing multiple defenders as he crossed the offensive blue line before passing to linemate Tom Kuhnhackl.

Sabres prospect J-J Peterka, who was officially added to the German roster Tuesday, did not play.
Canada 4 - Norway 2
Miller skated 13:26 in the victory, which was vital for the Canadians' chances at advancing to the quarterfinal round. Canada is tied with Norway for sixth place in Group B with three games remaining. (The top four teams from each group advance.)
