The NHL announced Tuesday afternoon that the Buffalo Sabres' game on January 8, 2022 at Bell Centre against the Montreal Canadiens has been postponed due to current attendance restrictions in certain Canadian cities, including Montreal.

Eight additional NHL games set to be played in Canada, including three other Canadiens home games, will be rescheduled for dates later in the season when such restrictions may be eased or lifted.
Make-up dates for the games have yet to be established.
Buffalo is set to return to action tomorrow night at home against the New Jersey Devils.
The Sabres have now had five games, including three home games, postponed this season due to COVID.
Buffalo is scheduled to play the New York Islanders on Thursday at UBS Arena. The Islanders' home game against Detroit on Wednesday has now been postponed due to COVID-related issues affecting both teams.
