The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Tobias Rieder to a one-year contract worth $700,000, the team announced Friday.
Rieder, 27, tallied 10 points (4+6) in 55 regular-season games with the Calgary Flames last season. He averaged 1:36 of shorthanded ice time per contest.

He added five points, including a playoff record-tying three shorthanded goals, in 10 postseason games.
Rieder previously played under Sabres coach Ralph Krueger for Team Europe at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, appearing in all six games for the tournament runners-up.
The 5-foot-11, 186-pound native of Landshut, Germany has appeared in 434 regular-season games during a six-year NHL career, amassing 138 points (59+79).
