OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forward Zack MacEwen on a three-year, $2.325M contract.The contract holds an average annual value of $775,000 which he will earn in each of the next three seasons.

MacEwen, 26, split the 2022-23 campaign between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Los Angeles Kings and was acquired by L.A. ahead of the NHL trade deadline. He concluded the season having tallied 10 points (four goals, six assists) and 66 penalty minutes over 56 regular-season games between the clubs. He appeared in one post-season contests for the Kings, recording two penalty minutes. He also skated in two games for the Flyers' American Hockey League affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, registering three points (one goal, two assists).

"Zack's a player with strong character who adds increased physicality to our lineup," said Senators general manager Pierre Dorion. "He's a hard-nosed, competitive player who's a tenacious forechecker and who demonstrates a routine willingness to go to the hard areas."

A Charlottetown native, MacEwen has appeared in 186 games over his NHL career which has included playing time with the Vancouver Canucks, the Flyers and the Kings, posting 28 points (13 goals, 15 assists) and 245 penalty minutes. He has been held scoreless while recording 11 penalty minutes over seven career NHL post-season contests.

Undrafted, MacEwen played two-plus seasons of major junior hockey with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Moncton Wildcats and the Gatineau Olympiques. He ranked second in team scoring with Gatineau in 2016-17 by way of tallying 74 points (31 goals, 43 assists).
