Travis Green

OTTAWA – Steve Staios, president of hockey operations and general manager of the Ottawa Senators, announced today that head coach Travis Green has signed a multi-year contract extension, which will run through the end of the 2030-31 season. In addition, several members of the coaching staff – including assistants Nolan Baumgartner, Ben Sexton, Mike Yeo and goaltending coach Justin Peters – also received multi-year contract extensions.

“When I was in the search to identify our head coach two years ago, it was clear to me that Travis had the qualities to move our team forward. I have watched him implement systems and structures that have reinforced my belief in his coaching abilities,” said Staios. “We share the same vision and philosophy and are confident we can continue to build on our team.”

Green was named the Senators’ 14th head coach in franchise history on May 7, 2024. Last Thursday, the Castlegar, BC, native earned his 95th victory behind the Ottawa bench. He moved into a tie for fifth place on the all-time wins list for coaches. Together with his coaching staff, he led the Senators to the playoffs in his first two seasons.
