NASHVILLE - The Canadiens are looking to snap a two-game losing skid as they get set to take on the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena on Saturday.

In their most recent outing, the Habs were defeated 4-1 by the Colorado Avalanche at the Bell Centre on Thursday.
Ben Chiarot was the lone goal-scorer for Montreal, lighting the lamp on the power play for his fifth of the season in the second period against the Avs. Cole Caufield and Joel Armia picked up assists on the tally.

Making his third consecutive start, Jake Allen turned aside 30 of the 33 shots he faced versus Colorado.

The Habs practiced at the Bell Sports Complex on Friday before their departure, and there was some good news to come out of the skate on the injury front. Forward Mike Hoffman, sidelined with an upper-body injury he suffered on November 13 in Detroit, skated on a regular line with Caufield and Christian Dvorak.

In his pregame media availability on Saturday, head coach Dominique Ducharme confirmed that Hoffman would make his return after a nine-game absence. Tyler Toffoli, who took a therapy day on Friday, will dress, as will Mattias Norlinder. Allen gets the start in goal.
At the other end of the ice, the Predators were blanked 2-0 at home by the Boston Bruins in their last game, also on Thursday. It was a contrast to the game they played on Monday, when they trounced the Columbus Blue Jackets 6-0.
Filip Forsberg had a standout performance in that victory, becoming just the third Nashville player to tally four times in one game. His four-point night also propelled him to hit the 400-point mark in his career, and that made the Swedish forward the fastest player to 400 points in franchise history.
Despite the offensive outburst, Forsberg sits slightly lower on the team's scoring list as he's only recently returned from a nine-game absence due to an upper-body injury. Mikael Granlund, who assisted on all four of Forsberg's goals against Columbus, currently leads Nashville with 25 points (5G, 20A). Matt Duchene sits second in team scoring with 24 points, and is also the Preds' goal-scoring leader with 13.
Expect to see Juuse Saros between the pipes on Saturday. The Finnish backstop has a 10-8-1 record, 2.34 goals-against average, .923 save percentage, and one shutout in 19 appearances this season.
This is the second and final Habs-Preds showdown of 2021-22. Montreal took the first contest by a 6-3 score on November 20 at the Bell Centre.
