The New Jersey Devils wanted to add a veteran goaltender this offseason to be a 1a-1b tandem in net with Mackenzie Blackwood. They got their man Wednesday with the
signing of Jonathan Bernier
to a two-year, $8.25-million dollar contract.
The veteran goaltender has 11 years of NHL experience and nearly 400 games played (394) in his career with stops in Los Angeles, Toronto, Anaheim, Colorado and Detroit. Bernier, a Laval, Quebec native, was a first-round pick (11th overall) in the 2006 NHL Draft by the Kings and was a member of their 2012 Stanley Cup championship team.
