"I thought we showed a lot of good character out there. We showed that we love each other, we care for each other, and a lot of guys stepped up. ... That was probably the positive of tonight. But we probably would have liked the two points when we had them at 4-3."
ON WHAT THIS GAME CAN DO FOR THE GROUP:
"I feel like it's means that we're all in. We're all together here. We're still going to keep pushing here. It's a big point to start a road trip, coming off a long break, coming into a tough building. We're going to keep grinding away here and it means a lot that we care for each other and are going to step in."
ON WILD FIRST PERIOD:
"I don't think we've had a game like that this year. That just shows to everybody and, most importantly, to us in the dressing room that we're not going to back down from anybody and we're going to stand up when times are needed. We're just going to keep this momentum and just like before the break and after and keep this road trip going."
BACKLUND ON HOW THE GAME PLAYED OUT:
"I thought it was a good hockey game, fun hockey game. A lot of character and the boys really stepped up for each other. It had a bit of everything. It's one we wanted to win, of course. It was right there and yeah, it's tough when we battle our way back."

"I'll brings a lot of energy and just gets guys going, excitement. Takes a lot of courage to step up like they did. It's great to see."
ON WHAT HE TAKES AWAY FROM THE GAME:
"We played pretty (well). Thought both teams played with some pretty good pace and were fresh out of the break. Wasn't too sloppy. Some games can be after a break. Thought it was a good, intense game. We wanted to win, of course. Just got away from us."
MANGIAPANE ON GETTING A POINT:
"It was a good game, right? Think we should have had the two points, but it was a close game throughout. I liked the way we competed and battled. We need to take a lesson here that when we're up 4-3, we've just got to manage the game and play to win there."
